We endeavour to make sure every patient is comfortable while under our care, but some patients still
experience dental anxiety. If this is you, we have an offering that may help. One hour before your
appointment you take a pill that we dispense to you. You achieve a level of sedation that permits you
to answer questions but still relax through your entire visit. This is also handy for those who have a
busy schedule and want to get all their treatment done in a single visit.
Nitrous Oxide Sedation
Nitrous oxide sedation, commonly known as “laughing gas,” is utilized to permit treatment to be more
comfortable. This sedation is inhaled through a mask. The medication you breathe in creates a sense of
relaxation. Local anaesthetic is then used in conjunction with nitrous oxide to eliminate pain in most cases.
No More ‘Fat Lips’ or Numbness After Treatment!
There are times after routine dental treatments that patients experience “numbness” for up to 5 hours.
It’s difficult to talk or eat, and the face and lips feel “fat.” What if that didn’t have to occur? We
are pleased to offer our patients OraVerse™. This product reverses the anaesthetic after your treatment
is completed. In approximately 15 minutes a patient feels back to normal. So, if the idea of being numb
for hours after your procedure makes you uncomfortable – we can take care of that for you!
